Pallisa civil society organizations’ Network (PACONET) was established in September 2000 and Registered as an NGO in 2003 under Reg. No. S. 5914/4686. It was incorporated in 2006 and has also undergone the QUaM process and was a warded a national QUaM certificate last year. It is a Network of CBO’s, NGO’s, FBO’s and other development actors operating in Pallisa, Kibuku and Budaka districts in the thematic areas of Good Governance, Health, Education, Health
Why Was It Formed
PACONET was formed as a result of the CBO’s, NGO’s, and FBO’s emerging in Pallisa, Kibuku and Budaka districts with limited coordination and collaboration. Different players over the years operated in isolation with little impact. A rising out of this gap, different civil society organizations in Pallisa, Kibuku and Budaka districts came together to form PACONET.The purpose was therefore to develop strong common positions for addressing poverty through sharing of information
Our Objective
To compile and maintain a comprehensive directory of all NGOs and CBOs in the operational districts and keep database of information about the Network with a view of disseminating it to member CSOs and to other likeminded stakeholders. To plan, co-ordinate training and technical assistance in Pallisa, Kibuku and Budaka districts for the purpose of improving management capabilities and effectiveness of members CSOs.
